Quiet Companionship
Quiet Companionship
From its elevated position in the inner city, the Red Brick Garden looks out across a sweeping panorama of Perth. It is a view that sets the tone for everything below it; open, generous, quietly confident.
Designed for a family with a full life to accommodate, the garden needed to work across many registers: a place for children to run, for adults to gather, for quiet mornings and long summer evenings.
Recycled red brick, used throughout for seating, edging and a raised turf platform, was chosen as the defining material; warming the space visually and anchoring it in the Federation heritage of the house it surrounds.
