Step in off the street and the pace shifts. The garden opens around you, quietly, a calm and considered counterpoint to the activity of the street beyond. A mature Eucalyptus anchors the ground plane, its canopy casting soft shade over planting that builds in layers beneath it, giving the space depth without density.
In the garden, the work of local artist April Pine gives the landscape an added layer of meaning. Her sculpture sits among the planting as something discovered rather than announced.
The laneway is reimagined as a pedestrian walkway, fruit trees, overhead trellises, and ambient lighting creating a route that feels human in scale and unhurried in character. Publicly accessible spaces are designed to slow people down, to encourage time spent.
